This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan. This is a hybrid role to Jackson, Michigan and requires working 3 days a week onsite.

Job Overview:

The Design Technician will provide design support for the transmission pipeline engineering department utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. 

Responsibilities:

 1.  Identification of system materials and their application; engaging in planning and research.

2.  Providing field design and support for utility systems; adherence to standard work processes and the application of industry standards. The Design Technician will be expected to design a variety of projects complexities ranging from standard to complex, and will frequently coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance and effective management of project tasks.

Requirements:  

1.  Design technician must have advanced computer and application knowledge.  

2. Communication and organizational skills are important for this role.  

3.  Clear and precise drawings are needed to effectively convey the designs to the operational and construction groups.  The designs this person provide need to be safe, ergonomic, and practical. 

Drafting experience utilizing MicroStation (preferred), AutoCAD, or similar.   

Education:

An associates degree in the requisite scientific or technical field.  Significant years of relevant design experience may be considered in leu of a technical degree.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $ 33-$40/ per hour
