Description:

This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy.  This role is onsite in Jackson, MI.

The Calibration Technician uses formal technical training, education, scientific principles, and hands-on experience to collect data and follow simple to very complex standardized procedures in order to produce accurate and timely data .  The Calibration Technician is expected to apply their experience and problem solving capabilities in order to ensure the quality and validity of the data produced.  Complex problem solving and troubleshooting of processes and equipment are expected to be able to be performed by the Calibration Technician.  Moderate analytical work, process and procedure development, and optimization of standard process workflows is expected of the Technician.  The Calibration Technician is expected to not only be able to operate independently on projects, but also compile, review and perform quality control on the reports produced.  Problem solving and process optimization are also required.  

  1.  Follow complex standard procedures to produce repeatable data either for direct submission to customers or for further analytical work.
  2. Perform calibrations and repairs to measuring and test equipment using known standards and procedures recorded in our quality system.
  3. Maintains and troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, dimensional and other equipment within Lab Services to support our internal and commercial customers on all of their Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE)
  4. Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office Products.

Experience:

  • Associate Degree:
  • Two-year associates in a scientific field or 48  scientific or technical credits  OR  four years of experience in the specific field of work in which the employee works.
  • Previous experience performing technical laboratory work under standard procedures within an industry recognized quality system.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $25 - $32/hr
