This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan. The duration of this contract is approximately 8-months. Work Schedule: 40 hours/week with overtime available as needed. Applicants must be at least 50 miles radius from Jackson, MI to be considered.

Duties:
- The role of the cyber security engineer demands technical skill, superior customer service and the ability to think, communicate and write at various levels.
- As a member of the Cyber Security Project Process & Standards Team, this role will work with project managers and members of their project team to ensure security requirements are designed into projects.
- Serves as the primary information security representative resource for IT and Business Projects. Ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner, represents projects from security and disaster recovery perspective at various meetings & review boards.
- Researches and advocates new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for the enterprise and its customers, business partners and vendors.
- Facilitates cyber security build work while working closely with the cyber security & engineering design team.
- Communicates security risks to appropriate staff within information security.
- Ensures projects are meeting the information security requirements by completing audits on projects.
- Works closely with the cyber security & engineering team on improving Cyber Security standards and processes.
Required Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or other related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Professional certifications, preferably in technical areas of security, are desired.
- IT and security work experience, with a broad exposure to infrastructure/network and multiplatform environments.
- Strong networking background in TCP/IP, routing/switching and firewalls.
- Knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications
- Demonstrated knowledge with security testing methodologies
- Demonstrated experience developing detailed system designs, diagrams, processes & documentation
- Demonstrated regulatory experience in IT regulations, PCI-DSS, NERC/CIP, HIPAA
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity best practices
- Demonstrated Knowledge of SANS 20 controls framework and other security frameworks (for example, NIST-800 series, NIST IR 7628)
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Visio
- Ability to speak in public forum in front of various audiences
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
- The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $37.62/hour - $50.16/hour W-2.
