This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy. This is a hybrid role and requires working onsite 3 days a week.
Location: The expectation for this role is hybrid with the worker primarily working onsite 3 days per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday on most weeks with Wednesday and Friday being remote. Candidates can be sourced from Grand Rapids, Saginaw, or Jackson. The Parnall office in Jackson, MI is preferred. However, most of the project are centrally located and work location can be flexible. In addition, travel to the job site for field visits or travel for key team meetings is required.
Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. The incumbent works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements. Schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
This position is functionally for a Lead Project Engineer who works in a team setting providing support to project managers and leading engineering tasks/deliverables related to the planning, design, quality, testing, and execution of complex and strategic projects for the Electric Distribution business area. The Project Engineer will be supporting a number of Economic Development projects and other major projects for Electric Distribution, including major substation rebuilds.
The Project Engineer ensures that technical project work scope is properly coordinated between internal and external engineers of record, vendors, fabricators, and contractors to meet project requirements. The Project Engineer will have multiple assignments (ranging from moderate to complex assignments) requiring application of standard techniques, theory, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Experience:
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $48- $60/hr
