Description:

This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan. 

Job Title: Data Analyst II

Position Details:

  • This position is fully Remote.
  • Work Schedule/Hours: Monday thru Friday, 40 hours/week.
  • 3 openings.
  • Contract Duration: 5 months.
  • Candidates must be eligible for W-2 employment and authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Duties:

  • Data Analysis & Exploration — Analyze large, complex datasets using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support organizational growth and efficiency.
  • Reporting & Visualization — Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports that deliver accurate, on‑time information to business stakeholders.
  • Requirements Gathering — Collaborate with business units to understand reporting needs, translate them into technical requirements, and ensure deliverables align with strategic objectives.
  • Data Quality & Validation — Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across multiple sources; troubleshoot discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work closely with IT, operations, and business teams to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Process Improvement — Identify opportunities to streamline data workflows, automate reporting, and enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Data Analysis & Exploration — Analyze large, complex datasets using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support organizational growth and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Large Dataset Management — Ability to work with high volume, multi-source datasets in structured and unstructured formats.
  • Power BI, SQL & Python — Proficiency in building dashboards, writing complex queries, and performing advanced analytics.
  • Technical & Non-Technical Communication — Skilled at presenting insights to diverse audiences, translating complex data into clear narratives.
  • Data Modeling & Statistics — Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, statistical analysis, and data engineering fundamentals.
  • Problem Solving — Ability to diagnose issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Written & Verbal Communication — Excellent communication skills for documentation, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation):

  • The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $42.86/hour - $57.14/hour W-2.
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
