Job Title: Senior Full Stack .NET Engineer

Position details:
- Expected Assignment Length: 3-month rolling engagements.
- Candidates must be willing to do the hybrid approach, or they will not be considered for this opportunity (Work onsite in Jackson, MI on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday & Work Remote on Monday and Friday.)
- They are a social facing team when they are in the office it is open office space not cubicles.
- They start around 8:30 AM then do their brief daily stand-up meetings, look at the backlog – Figure out what is not working and manage the issue (S) or incident (s).
- Teams are broken down to sub-domains.
- Champion pairing and clean coding practices across the product lifecycle (Differentiators)
- Pairing: Meaning, two engineers work together on the same task, typically sharing one workstation or collaborating remotely.
One person is the:
o Driver – writes the code.
o Navigator – reviews the code as it's written, thinks ahead, asks questions, and catches issues.
o They switch roles regularly. - NET 5.0+ Expertise — 4+ years of experience building enterprise-grade backend systems.
- Frontend Development — 4+ years of experience with Angular or React/Next.
- Team Upskilling — Proven ability to teach tools, techniques, and processes.
- Building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
- Automating deployments with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Technical Leadership — Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, provide technical guidance, and support team upskilling initiatives.
Department Description: Work and Material Management (WAMM) in the Applications & Analytics (A&A) organization are responsible for the apps, data, and processes needed to intake new work and follow it all the way to completion within the utility company. That’s everything from getting requirements from customers and designing the work, to scheduling and building. The group is a part of a larger technical wing of the company and is currently undergoing a digital first transformation.
Duties:
- Software Design — Architect, design, and implement scalable applications supporting the Work and Material Management (WAMM) team within the Applications & Analytics organization.
- Application Development — Build and maintain .NET 5.0+ backend services and modern frontend applications using Angular or React/Next.
- Cloud Engineering — Develop cloud-first solutions, troubleshoot cloud-based issues, and contribute to Azure-focused modernization efforts.
- System Reliability — Maintain end-to-end solutions, resolve production bugs, and ensure high system reliability across critical utility workflows.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work closely with engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver functional, scalable, and user‑centered software.
- Technical Leadership — Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, provide technical guidance, and support team upskilling initiatives.
- Agile Delivery — Contribute to an Agile System of Delivery, participate in paired programming, incremental design, and XP‑aligned practices.
- Integration Work — Support integrations with SAP PO and BTP endpoints and assist with networking documentation such as firewall and IA diagrams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required.
- Advanced Degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Equivalent Experience considered for candidates with strong professional backgrounds.
- .NET 5.0+ Expertise — 4+ years of experience building enterprise-grade backend systems.
- Frontend Development — 4+ years of experience with Angular or React/Next.
- Team Upskilling — Proven ability to teach tools, techniques, and processes.
- Cloud‑First Development — Strong troubleshooting and implementation skills in cloud environments.
- Stakeholder Communication — Comfortable engaging with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- End‑to‑End Ownership — Skilled in maintaining full-stack solutions and resolving production issues.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation):
- The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $70.00/hour - $90.00/hour W-2.
