This is a contract role through Magnit for an American energy company based in Jackson, Michigan

Location: Jackson, MI

This position will be remote within the State of Michigan, requiring support in-person on-site 2-3 times per month. 

On-site meetings vary by location, commonly within: Lansing, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Flint, Owosso, Livonia, Royal Oak, Groveland, Howell, and Macomb. 

No per diem for candidates who are willing to relocate to Michigan to work. 

ROLE OVERVIEW: 33860813 Gas Service Design Analyst

This role resides within the Gas Distribution Design Quality team, within the Gas Distribution Engineering organization. Gas Distribution Engineering is responsible for the engineering design and preparation of construction documentation for all Gas Distribution main and service replacements and New Business main and service installations. 

The Design Quality team ensures high quality, safe designs are achieved with efficiency through continuous improvement and standards adherence.

The Gas Service Design Analyst is responsible for the review of gas distribution service designs and corresponding SAP notifications and design documents. During the review process this role identifies and documents project adherence to business processes, company and industry standards and general design best practices. Occasionally this position will need to provide clarification on their review feedback to service designers, as well as provide feedback to leadership on common design quality errors.

The Gas Service Design Analyst will have experience with utility system design and analysis using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) software. The Gas Service Design Analyst will be expected to review a variety of projects complexities ranging from intermediate to advanced level, and will occasionally coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance and effective management of project tasks. 

This role will also:

Understand, apply and recommend department standards, procedures, processes and job aids as related to plans and specifications, maps, images, specialized components, custom reports, cells and related material for projects or other work order application documents. 

Apply utility design and construction standards to ensure compliance. Understanding of appropriate materials and components based on project requirements.

Ability to analyze industry standards, maps, blueprint drawings, details, survey data, sketches, and project scope requirements.

Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.

Skills & Experience:

REQUIRED: Software experience with: MicroStation V8i or v10, AutoCAD, Open Plant, GIS.

Skilled at task prioritization and coordination within a team environment, while maintaining an ability to complete tasks with high level of independence.

Energy industry background, such as knowledge and experience in gas distribution utility operations and design.

Ability to understand and apply regulations, company policies, standards and procedures.

Education

Technical or engineering Associate Degree or higher

4 -7 Years experience required, 7-10 years preferred.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $30-$41/ per hour
