Description:

This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan.  This role is hybrid to Jackson, MI and will require reporting onsite every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Travel to job locations within Michigan will be anticipated 25% depending on the location of the project or for department meetings and/or training.  

Job Overview:

This position reports directly to the Principal Development Manager responsible for Natural Gas projects. Provide support for to the Principal Development Manager for development and management for power plant projects ranging from $100M to $2B.

Responsibilities:

Support development of the project schedule, and update the schedule as it evolves; manage the project budget, and then manage the project so that it doesn't cause cost overruns.

Ensure the project team has the supplies and human resources necessary to get the project done on time and on budget; identify and minimize potential risks to the project timeline and budget.

Ensure all project team members understand what their responsibilities are; communicate the project's progression to management; and ensure the quality of the team's work and any supplies or materials used by the team. 

Support development of stage-gate deliverables, facilitate meetings to gather information from stakeholders., and follow-up on actions at the direction of the Principal Development Manager.

Work with the support groups such as engineering, scheduling, cost controls, construction, and startup and testing staff to ensure that proper alignments and support occur.

Perform presentations when appropriate.

Requirements:

Applied engineering or equivalent working experience; including project management experience. Project Management Professional certification is preferred.

Experience in natural gas fired generation or development of any type of generation is desired.

The candidate must know the business of project management and have good project management leadership skills. 

Highly organized with the ability to actively align the project with the department and Company business needs and goals.

Good communication skills including conflict resolution skills.

Ability to solve a range of problems quickly utilizing project management methodologies.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is required.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $ 37-$49.33/hr
