Description:

This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy. This is a hybrid role and requires working onsite 3 days a week. 

These roles will support our HVD Lines Engineering team and our consulted design work. There has been a significant increase in spend within the High Voltage Distribution (HVD) Lines Reliability budget resulting in a significant increase in Projects requiring Engineering and Design. The Project Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Develop and manage design plans for HVD Lines Reliability projects

Review and approve invoices related to contracted design work

Track and report project metrics including schedule, budget, and quality KPIs

Manage and process change orders to ensure proper documentation and approvals

Oversee permit management to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements

Address and resolve questions from the field to support project execution

Ensure AFC (Approved for Construction) documents are properly managed with Document Control

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of project management principles and engineering design processes

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across teams

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)

2–5 years of engineering or project management experience, preferably in the utility or energy sector

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $ 70-73/hr
